The Westland Widgeon is a light helicopter developed in the United Kingdom in the 1950s . It was designed primarily for civil and military use .

The Widgeon has a single-engine rotor with a main rotor and a tail rotor for stabilization . It can be used for both transport missions and training purposes . Due to its robust construction and striking shape, which is adapted to its flight performance , it was mainly used in the British Navy and in the aviation industry .

A striking feature of the Widgeon is its ability to operate in a variety of weather conditions . Although technically no longer in service , it remains an interesting example of mid- 20th century light helicopter development.
