Description

The Fokker 50 is a turboprop regional aircraft developed by the Dutch company Fokker as the successor to the Fokker 27. Although the Fokker 50 is very similar to the Fokker 27 , many components such as the engine and the propellers were newly developed. A characteristic feature is the design as a high-wing aircraft and the engines built into the wings.

The Fokker 50 has excellent short take-off and landing characteristics , which allows it to be used at smaller airports. Furthermore, the operating costs are very low and it is characterized by high reliability . However, financial difficulties at Fokker led to the production of the Fokker 50 being stopped in 1997. However, the Fokker 50 is still in use by many, especially smaller, airlines around the world.
