Description

The Douglas DC-9 is a short- and medium-haul passenger aircraft developed by McDonnell Douglas . The engines were mounted on the side of the rear fuselage, as on the Caravelle . The characteristic T-tail was a trademark of the DC-9.

Starting from the basic version DC-9-10, the later variants were continuously stretched, so that with the last variants MD-90 the fuselage was 16 m longer.

The DC-9 and its later models MD-80 , MD-90 and, after sale, ultimately known as the Boeing 717, were used by airlines around the world and remain in service to this day.
