Description

The Heinkel He 113 was a project for a German fighter aircraft during World War II , but it never entered production . Developed by the Heinkel Flugzeugwerke , the He 113 was planned as an advanced version of the He 112. The design featured a single-engine fixed-wing aircraft with classic lines and a retractable undercarriage .

The aircraft was designed in response to competition for effective fighters in the early stages of the war. The He 113 would have used powerful engines and was designed for a variety of uses, including air superiority . Nevertheless, the Luftwaffe ultimately opted for other models, such as the Messerschmitt Bf 109 , and as a result the He 113 never progressed beyond prototype status .

Overall, the Heinkel He 113 remains an example of the many aircraft projects that were developed during the war but not realized.
