Description

The Caravelle is a passenger aircraft developed in the 1950s by the French airline Sud Aviation .

It entered commercial service in the late 1950s and was one of the first airliners to have a door exit at the front of the cabin, making it easier for passengers to board and disembark. In addition, the engines were mounted on the side of the rear fuselage, which resulted in less noise in the cabin.

The Caravelle was used by numerous airlines worldwide . Due to the development of more modern and efficient aircraft, the Caravelle was gradually phased out in the 1970s. The last commercial flights took place in the 1980s.

The aircraft was innovative for its time, especially in terms of technology and comfort , and is considered to be one of the first "comfortable" aircraft for passengers.

The Caravelle holds an important place in the history of civil aviation and helped revolutionize air travel in the post-war period .
