Hawker Harrier MISSING

The Hawker Harrier is a British vertical take-off and landing aircraft developed in the 1960s by Hawker Siddeley . Based on the Hawker P.1127 Kestrel , which was developed as a vertical take-off aircraft by Great Britain, the USA and Germany, deviating from the concept of using rockets instead of manned aircraft at the time, the Harrier was created after the failure of the so-called Tripartite Evaluation Squadron . The Harrier, designed as a shoulder-wing aircraft , had the improved Pegasus Mk 102 engine from the GR.1A version onwards.

The Harrier is capable of vertical takeoff and landing, which gives it a huge advantage over conventional aircraft. Also notable is the central main landing gear consisting of twin wheels . There are booms at the wing tips .

Starting with the GR.1 variant, the Harrier was continually improved and from 1978 was also used by the Fleet Air Arm as the Sea Harrier . The cockpit was raised to ensure better visibility.
